Half marathon training W2 R3

This week has not exactly gone to plan.  Our new cat, Alonzo, wasn’t well and he needed to go to the vet today.  He’s much better now, but it put me in a bit of a panic earlier today.  I was able to get 3 miles done as I had to convince myself to go and work out and that it would help alleviate the anxiety.   It did, a bit, but then I felt pressed for time and whatnot.

The basics:

Run designation: easy

Distance: 4.5 miles but managed 3 out of the 4.5

Goal pace: 11 minutes per mile

Actual pace: 10’49”! 🎉 (much easier to pace as I was on the treadmill)

Weather: rainy and cool, hence the treadmill

How did the run go?

Apart from being anxious and stressed out, the run went ok.  I told myself I only had to run 3 miles just so I could get it done and have time to eat and shower before taking Alonzo to the vet.  Hopefully, next week there won’t be as many things going on and whatnot and I can get a good week of training done and dusted.  Luckily for me, I had done a practice run of half training over the past few months and have a good base down, so missing 1.5 miles really isn’t a worry right now.  If this were a longer run, I would have moved things around to get it done.
