Half marathon training Week 6 Run 1

Welcome to week 6 and summer in Glasgow (meaning the handful of days where it gets above 20C!)!

The basics:

Run designation: steady

Distance: 4.5 miles

Intended pace: 10-10:30 min/mile

Actual pace: 11’50” average 🙄

How did the run go?

As soon as I walked outside this morning I knew there was no way I was going to manage a 10 minute mile.  It was HOT and I suck at maintaining that pace on the best of days.  So I just ran because I like running and enjoyed the weather and the sun, although at points I did question my sanity for not waiting until now when it happened to be far cooler to run.

The rest of the week looks to be very rainy, so I bet the next two runs will be indoors.  I am hoping for a break over the weekend for my 8 miler.
