Hugh Laurie in Glasgow- 2012

Last night I had the privilege to see Hugh Laurie in concert for a second time. There are a few things you need to know about the show. One, if you’re expecting to see Gregory House, you’re going to be disappointed. The show that Hugh puts on is 3/4 Hugh Laurie and 1/4 Laurie (from Fry &). He’s witty, comical, self-depreciating, and very, very amazing.

He starts off the show with a shot of Macallan (and looked to me to perform a blow job shot from the floor!) but appeared to serve the purpose of showing off Arthur. When I saw him last summer, there was more hair, and less Arthur, but his hair wasn’t as short as last summer as one more season of House was to be filmed. Now, Hugh can be himself, and his hair is very short, and there is no Housian scruff. Also, he said fellatio. (My inner House/Wilson fangirl had a bit of a spaz!) Also jammy dodger! He was wearing a ruffled tuxedo shirt that looked to be a very pale pink, and a grey tux with argyle socks and brown shoes. (At first I thought they were the well loved brown boots!)

The stage was eclectic bits of furniture as seen in this picture from or this one from the tumblr of everybodylies22. Sadly, I have no pictures from last night as the venue was very adamant in not allowing pictures or videos. 🙁

The music was impressive, and Hugh puts all of himself into it. There aren’t words to use that could give it proper justice. I loved every minute of it, every song, every thank you, every toast. I wish everyone who is a fan could have this same opportunity.

I am fairly sure the set list is the same as other shows (here is a link to the setlist from Seattle) from what I can remember. I hope that someone else out there on the internets has a better memory than I, or has even a few pictures!

I do have to admit that there was a little part of me that wished he burst out with “I’m in love with Stefi Graf” during the encore. I mean the tennis is on over here so . . . . 🙂
